Dunbar

Dunbar

I tend to organise my trips abroad a lot but sometimes you really don’t need to go far to disconnect from routine, especially when you are based in Edinburgh.

We hired a car for a day and stopped in North Berwick, as usual. Although North Berwick is stunning, we were looking for something new and so, we adventured further down the coast and finally made it to Dunbar.

We were taken aback from the high street, which is not particularly pretty, but once we went down the coast path we absolutely fell in love with the place. The first thing that caught our attention was a pub, the Volunteer Arms. Being based in Edinburgh we found the place cheap and the quality was as good as expensive places.

The John Muir Way

This Coast to Coast path stretches over 134 miles across Scotland and takes the name of the Scottish-born most important active environmentalist of the 20th century.
